Have you ever wanted to perform in a theatre or direct your own show? Drama is a fascinating subject where you can both study the theory and hone your practical skills.
What will I Learn?
You will be introduced to a range of theatre genres, playwrights and practitioners and explore the different subjects both practically and theoretically. You will consider the different influences on theatre around the world and throughout history and experiment with performances styles. There is also the opportunity to develop your own skills as a theatre maker, as both a performer and director.
In your second year, you will take on a work placement which will enhance your understanding of drama and its applications within the wider community and in educational settings.
Drama graduates have a lot of transferable skills, meaning that they are well suited to a variety of different careers. Graduates have gone on to work within drama: acting, directing, theatre management and teaching. Some have also gone on to jobs within journalism, law, accountancy and PR.
